The yarn-bombed attraction drew droves of visitors to the region but the time has come to un-wrap the vessel today.
Baling twine, bedding sheets and plastic, along with a more traditional material in wool, were all used to turn the submarine yellow for the Murray Arts project.
It also celebrated 50 years since The Beatles visited Australia.
Murray Arts project officer Jo Bartels said the art work had been in place for a month and it was time for it to come down.
The wool will be re-used as animal blankets and taken to animal shelters including the RSPCA and Wodonga Dog Rescue.
