Albury Indoor Netball starts its second season of the calendar year on Saturday with almost 800 players from under 9 to under 17 and a women’s competition on Sunday night.
Trish Cerminara said there was a focus on junior development of players and umpires.
“The way we run it, there are generally three divisions in the age groups to allow for those stepping up from one age bracket to the next,” she said.
“And part of the program is the development of umpires — age and gender are no barrier.
“A lot of the young girls go through here, get their badge and by the time they are 15 or 16 go on to the Ovens and Murray.
“We’re proud of the role we play in developing umpires but as each age group moves on we need to get more.”
Anyone interested in playing or umpiring can phone Trish Cerminara on 0429 556 678.
