RAIN has again lashed the Border, but the region has escaped major incidents.
The worst incident last night was when emergency services, including the SES, were called after a large gum tree fell on to the Hume Highway near Chiltern during heavy rain.
It blocked a northbound lane about 9.30pm.
No one was believed to have been badly injured, but several vehicles were damaged when they hit the tree.
Traffic slowed as the SES removed the tree.
An SES spokesman said volunteers had been called to only a few minor incidents yesterday.
One car slid off a road at Stanley after snow fell yesterday afternoon and several were bogged.

Yarrawonga received 4.2 millimetres with about 20 millimetres for the month. Wangaratta received 6.6 millimetres.
