WITH just six games left in a deeply disappointing SEABL season, Albury-Wodonga Lady Bandits coach James Ballinger said the Border club still needed to fight, if only for the sake of its severely dented pride.

Losers of their past 15 games and having tasted victory just once this year, the Lady Bandits host the Hobart Lady Chargers tomorrow night at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
In a blow to Albury-Wodonga’s chances, centre Lauren Angel will miss the clash, having been deemed unavailable for selection by the Lady Bandits for what are understood to be breaches of the team’s disciplinary code of conduct.
Ballinger refused to elaborate on the reasons for Angel’s enforced absence.
“It’s a difficult time for the team,” Ballinger said.
“It’s been a really tough week and my job is to guide the team the best I can.
“Lauren is unavailable for selection this week and we look forward to having her back next week.”
The Lady Bandits take on a Lady Chargers outfit that sits fourth in the South conference standings having dropped its past two games after a five-match winning streak that was sparked by the addition of Australian Opals player Cayla Francis.
“The plan is to continue to play hard and be as prepared as possible,” Ballinger said.
Tip-off is at 6pm.
