Boomers, who have won the league title four times in the past nine years, assumed top spot last weekend and sit three points clear of their weekend opponent.
An under-manned Melrose struggled against Myrtleford but will be back to full strength tomorrow.
Defender Rachael Clarke said they would welcome back several key players for the clash.
“We didn’t have a bench and wasted our opportunities last week but Myrtleford played amazing,” she said.
“Their structure and crosses was like they were a completely different team from the first round.
“We had players injured and ill and we just struggled in the end without a bench and players to rotate.
“But we know we will be under pressure this week; Boomers are the epitome of the team you want to be.”
Boomers captain Jenae Abel said an ultimatum to players had turned their fortunes around and led to knocking off ladder-leaders Diamonds.
“The feeling is just so much better after the win last week,” she said.
“I think everyone would admit that we had lost confidence as a result of the stop/start season — it robbed us of that team energy.
“In the end it was a matter of ‘are we just knocking the ball around or are we actually going to do this’.”
