THURGOONA’S Lindsey Wright has had her best result of the year with a top-10 finish at the Marathon Classic in Ohio. Wright, pictured, finished tied for 7th after a closing round of three-under 68 but was no match for New Zealand teenage sensation and world No.2 Lydia Ko. The Kiwi fired a six-under 65 to finish at 15-under par, five shots clear of Wright. But for a bogey on the last Wright could have doubled her paycheck. Her back nine included four birdies but was marred by the bogey on the 18th and the par 4 12th hole at the Hghland Meadows Golf Club. Wright had missed the cut at her previous two tournaments. Her best finish of the year before Ohio was a 33rd at the Shoprite Classic in early June. Ko, 17, finished with rounds of 67, 67, 70 and 65. She started the final round in fifth place, two shots off the pace, but quickly made ground.
