ZAC Walker is a runaway leader in the golden boot after his latest four-goal haul took his season tally to 30.
With four games and a bye to go, Walker is set to have a run at the tally of last year’s winner Dan Summers (37), but will fall well short of his record-breaking season of 50+ goals before he went to the Melbourne Heart youth team.
Still, while Walker was bagging his quartet against Wangaratta, Twin City may have unearthed another natural talent.
Lewis Greenwood, 14, earned a call up to the senior team for his first game and ended up with his name on the scoresheet.
“He’s probably the smallest player on the field and got up to a header and put it away,” coach David Afonso said.
“He is certainly a player of the future.”
