After Daniel and Darren Bradshaw set up a 27-point lead for the Bombers at half-time, the reigning premier slowly worked their way back into the contest to stabilise their position in the top five with three rounds remaining.
Coach Mark Sarau said player pride was the biggest factor in the turnaround.
“I think we just wanted to play good footy again,” Sarau said.
“We got that opportunity in the third quarter and took it.
“We changed a few little things around like Ramage (Steve) going forward and Demarte (Danny) and Madden (Jeremiah) changing around on the Bradshaws but the boys basically wanted to play better football.
“It was a good win especially after the way Dederang started the game.”
Barnawartha skipper Josh Spence led the revival with three goals while Ryan Lempa, Ramage, Paul Harrington and Nathan McKendrick were also prominent as the Tigers hit the lead for the first time in the final quarter.
Youngster Nick Gehrig also played well in his second senior game for the Tigers.
Dederang-Mount Beauty led by six points at the last change but lacked the late run to finish the job with Louie Iaria, Elliott Powell and Steve Bradshaw often outnumbered at the contest.
Thurgoona defeated Yackandandah by 62 points.
Lucas Mellier continued his fine form with a best on ground performance while Luke Donnan, Craig Taylor and Mark Jones also performed well as the Bulldogs kicked seven goals to two in the final term.
Kiewa-Sandy Creek defeated Tallangatta by 61 points.
