They are a mix of promotions and transfers, though a few officers will, in effect, do their old job under a new name.

Some staff have been displaced and others took packages.

Two appointments are pending.

General manager Les Tomich began a jobs review soon after he took over in December.

Assistant general manager Robert Brown was appointed first.

Four group managers followed: Judy Charlton (corporate and customer service), Michael Keys (planning and economic development), Dale Blampied (engineering) and James Jenkins (community and recreation).

Mr Brown’s new team leaders are Murray Watson (human resources) and Melinda Grigg (communication).

Mrs Charlton heads a unit with six team leaders, including a newcomer, Rikk Price (information management).

The other five are Kathryn Wyss (grants attraction); Donna Evans (customer service); Mal Waters (risk and occupational health); Kerry May (administration and leases) and Mal Dunstone (financial services).

Michael Keys joined this year and has five team leaders with economic development and compliance-ordinance posts pending.

Mr Keys’ other three team leaders are Warren Jenkinson (building); David Christy (town planning) and Petra Edwards (administration).

In engineering, Dale Blampied has a special structure of group leaders and team leaders.

Mr Blampied’s group leaders are Greg Blackie (planning and assets); Brad Ferris (services); Mauro Dei Agnoli (projects); and Colin Johnson (water and waste water).

Mr Blackie’s team leaders are Terri O’Brien (strategic planning and traffic); Chris Newnan (mapping) and Heinz Kaushe (asset management).

Mr Ferris’ team leaders are Stephen Chalmers (landscape and building); Lindsay Pearson (civil services); and Murray Teakel (fleet and supply).

As projects group leader, Mr Dei Agnoli supervises the library-museum and car park projects and oversees commercial enterprises with managers Alan Hruz (landfill); Rodney Claxton (cemeteries) and Des Ryan (airport).

Mr Johnson heads the water unit, aided by team leaders Anthony Foley (engineering) and Adam Carty (environmental services).

In community and recreation, Mr Jenkins’ team leaders are David Armstrong (parks); events (Ros Walls); Maralee Vogel (community development); and Rebecca Bates (community services), while Kevin Wilson is classified a group leader.
