After gold medals to Belinda Hocking and Jodi Elkington earlier in the week at Glasgow came a bronze medal in the javelin to Kelsey-Lee Roberts.
The 22-year-old moved to Corryong when she was just eight as a first stop after emigrating from South Africa.
According to our Upper Murray correspondent, Roberts lived at the foot of the mountains until 2007, starting her athletic’s career at Corryong College.
Roberts pulled out her bronze medal throw in the final round to finish third behind fellow Aussie Kim Mickle, who won with a Games record.
We were a little skeptical until we found this picture in our archives, below of a young Kelsey-Lee playing for the Corryong Flames at the Rand Sports Carnival, which incidentally will be held tomorrow, way back in 2005.
