Now in its sixth year, the awards recognise and highlight the contributions young people aged 14 to 24 make to the community.
The Wodonga Council initiative attracted an audience of 220 residents who watched as winners were announced in 10 categories.
Rebecca Willcox, 17, was named RACV Youth Ambassador for her contribution to the performing arts community in the form of calisthenics.
She has participated in calisthenics for 13 years and has been a cadet coach for five years.
In 2012, Rebecca used her calisthenics expertise to choreograph a performance on the theme of teen drinking at Felltimber Middle Years College.
Outside of calisthenics, the Wodonga Senior Secondary College vice-captain is involved in the community as a venturer scout, part of last year’s Lions Youth of the Year awards and a winner of the Kwong Lee Dow Melbourne University scholarship last year.
Wodonga Council’s youth services officer Anthony Nicholson said the awards were popular each year as they recognised “young people doing great things in our community”.
