A group of young people left a party in Jindera and were walking along Dights Forrest Road when a 17-year-old male in a black Nissan Navara passed them.
Police said he then stopped his vehicle and reversed, running over two girls aged 16 and 17.
The driver, from Jindera, had been at the same party.
The 16-year-old was trapped under the vehicle and was rushed to Albury hospital after being rescued.
She suffered from a punctured lung and a fractured collarbone and ribs.
The 17-year-old was treated for minor injuries and left the hospital at 3pm yesterday.
The 16-year-old is in a stable condition but still in hospital.
Police said they spoke to several witnesses and are investigating.
