Andrew Robert Ditchfield was earlier this year sentenced to 100 hours community service.
Yesterday the Probation and Parole Service sought to have the community service order revoked in Albury Local Court.
Magistrate Megan Greenwood said Ditchfield, 53, of Michelle Avenue, Lavington, had completed 86 hours.
She put Ditchfield on a 12-month bond and ordered him to comply with treatment directions for his alcohol problem.
“It is clear you have serious alcohol problems indeed,” Ms Greenwood told him.
Ditchfield had attended Probation and Parole in Albury on March 23 and was ordered to report to St Vincent de Paul at Lavington three days later, and each subsequent Monday, for work.
He had appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the work site on May 27.
Ditchfield had reported for unscheduled work in June with an overwhelming smell of alcohol.
Ms Greenwood was told Ditchfield had also failed to report for work on two separate occasions in March and June.
Ditchfield was stopped for a random breath test about 6.08pm on December 7 last year near the intersection of Wahroonga Road and Sanders Street in Lavington.
He had produced his licence, was slurring his words and a later breath analysis gave a reading of 0.230.
He had been drinking for almost four hours.
