After the senior Ovens and Murray clash between Wodonga Raiders and Wangaratta, youth girls teams from Wodonga and Wangaratta will battle it out for the first time on the Border.
AFL NEB football development manager Grant Saunders said the girls were excited to play on the big stage.
“Playing on O and M match day will be a great experience and hopefully the crowd will hang around to watch the girls and give them some support,” Saunders said.
“We are managing a game here and there, but it seems the demand for female matches is growing steadily enough to support a more solid comp in the near future.”
