Gareth Mack, of Thurgoona’s home theatre specialists Macktronix, won the Young Entrepreneur award, while the Murray Conservatorium’s Stephen O’Connell was named business leader of the year.
Smollett Street accountancy firm Crowe Horwath was announced employer of choice and manufacturers Norske Skog got the nod for excellence in work, health and safety.
Albury Northside Chamber of Commerce was honoured as local chamber of commerce of the year.
Deniliquin’s Sunrice shared the excellence in export category.
Murray-Riverina NSW Chamber of Commerce regional manager Ben Foley said the awards helped winners gain recognition at a local and national level.
“History has revealed we punch above our weight at the state level and I am extremely excited about the prospects of doing so again based upon the calibre of the organisations that will be representing our region,” he said.
The awards were announced in Griffith on Friday night.
