A WOMAN driver and her male passenger have been winched to safety from Beechworth Gorge this afternoon after their car plunged about 100 metres into bushland.

Neither the woman or the man are believed to have been injured. Both were assessed by paramedics upon their rescue and have since been taken to the Beechworth police station.
