Men in the Kitchen features recipes from high-profile Australian sportsmen, entertainers, politicians and “other good blokes”.

Lynette Wilson — who lost her sister Margaret Webster to suicide in 2000 — said money from sales would support Suicide Prevention Australia.

“I’ve been working on it for about 2½ years,” she said.

“I decided I needed to help other families.

“I started to contact high-profile people to contribute and the response was awesome.

“It has all come together after all this time and it’s finally for sale.”

Contributors include Justin Koschitzke, Billy Slater, John Laws, Daryl Braithwaite and Jeff Kennett.

Daryl Somers and Neil Mitchell also contributed a recipe.

Ian Thorpe, who has fought a well-publicised battle with depression, contributed a recipe and wished Ms Wilson luck.

“I’m finding people are open to talking about suicide,” Ms Wilson said.

“My sister had a love of cooking, she was a really great cook.”

“Her death had a really big impact on our family.”
