THE first of 42 top-class international movies was screened at Regent Cinemas last night marking the official opening of The Border Mail Albury- Wodonga International Film Festival.

The event was opened by The Border Mail editor Di Thomas, who joined a packed theatre to watch one of the festival’s most anticipated films, Boyhood.
“The Border Mail is proud to have been associated with the festival since its inception in 2005,” Thomas said last night.
“It provides regional movie-goers a chance to see a diverse variety of films not usually shown in regional areas.”
This year the festival program has a record-breaking line-up with eight more films compared with last year.
Highlights include Australian drama Charlie’s Country, starring David Gulpilil, and critically acclaimed Indian offering The Lunchbox.
The event screens 42 films over 12 days covering a variety of genres ranging from adventure to comedy and documentaries.
