In a thrilling finale to the home and away season, the Power leapfrogged Lockhart into sixth place after a disappointing Demons outfit was thumped by 10th-placed Holbrook by 47 points.
The Power will meet Brock-Burrum again at Walbundrie on Saturday in a cut-throat elimination final.
Power coach Brad Talbot said he couldn’t believe his luck after the cards fell their way.
“We just wanted to finish the season on a good note and then hope we had a bit of luck with other results,” he said.
“We went into the match with the mindset that we had nothing to lose.
“We couldn’t believe it when the news filtered through that Holbrook had upset Lockhart and we had pinched sixth spot.”
The Saints, who couldn’t move from third, took a cautious approach into the match and rested their leading goalkicker Kylin Morey alongside Robbie Norris and Liam Johnson.
They struggled to find a reliable avenue to goal without Morey and Norris, with danger man Darryn McKimmie well held by Tim Cooper.
The Power won the midfield battle with rugged onballer Josh Lewis, Jeremy Stevenson and speedster Nathan Rhodes racking up plenty of touches.
In a further bonus, high-profile recruit Luke Cowan could be available for the elimination final after being sidelined since round 10 with a shoulder complaint.
“We will go into Saturday’s encounter feeling we match up fairly well against the opposition,” Talbot said.
“We have regained a bit of confidence and belief and just know we need to work as hard as we did on Saturday.
“We will just give it everything we have got and see what happens.
“We are not satisfied on just making finals and now need to make the most of our opportunity.”
The Power held their best and fairest count yesterday with defender Tim Cooper (67 votes) taking out the honour from Josh Lewis (65) and Alex Wallis (57).
Cooper also won the club’s thirds best and fairest in 2003.
Lockhart finished the season on a disappointing note when it lost to Holbrook at Lockhart.
The Brookers opened up a five-goal lead at the main break and never looked like stopping on their way to a 47-point win.
Osborne snapped a four- match losing streak with 61-point thumping of Culcairn.
Brad Horn and Jesse Johnston booted seven goals each as the Magpies enjoyed an 87-point shellacking of the Billabong Crows.
Howlong smashed Walla by 150 points and meets perennial powerhouse Osborne on Sunday in the elimination final.
