After losing Murray Waite (collarbone) and Michael Reidy (knee) before half-time, the Bushrangers rallied to ensure themselves a spot in next weekend’s elimination final.
Coach Darren Ogier was pleased with his players’ persistence.
“The boys did well,” he said.
“Losing a couple early had an impact on our rotations, but they stuck at it and finished the game off really strongly.
“Bendigo played particularly well and we had to work hard for the win.
“It was a good hard hit-out before the finals.”
Nathan Drummond was inspirational for the Bushrangers, with a brilliant tackle in the final term lifting the team, while Lavington’s Brydan Hodgson worked hard in the clinches.
Thomas Holman, Nick Mellington, Jy Simpkin and Connor Brown also played well for the victors.
The Bushrangers lost their first final to Western Jets last season and, will be looking to go one better this year.
