This rebuilding program was badly needed and now, combined with the new Belvoir Special School and the recently completed Southern Cross Educational Precinct, students in the Wodonga community can enjoy the modern, state of the art schools which every child deserves.
Hopefully Mr Tilley and Mr Dixon can now turn their attention to completing stage two of the badly needed and long overdue rebuilding program at Beechworth Secondary College.
Stage one of this program was completed in 2008 and the school community has been waiting patiently for funding to complete stage two, only to miss out in successive budgets.
The funding required to complete this rebuilding is modest when compared to the capital which has flowed into the improvements in Wodonga and other schools in the Benambra electorate.
A strong and vibrant public school is an important part of every rural community.
Surely it is now time to see the urgent needs of this school addressed.
Students who attend Beechworth Secondary College also deserve to complete their secondary education in modern, quality buildings.
Beechworth and wider community taxpayers also deserve to see some state government fund- ing flowing back into their community for the benefit of their children.
