The men are alleged to have entered a farm at Tungamah yesterday and removed the bat- teries.
A neighbour gave a description to police and a partial car registration, and the car was intercepted on the Yarrawonga-Benalla Road.
A 29-year-old man has been charged and bailed on one count of theft.
Charges against a 48-year-old man were pending.
