They are vying for a place in the president’s cup team to compete at Narrandera on September 13 and 14.
Albury will be one of six districts from Zone 8 (Riverina) taking part in the annual challenge.
The president’s cup competition is for players in grades five, six and seven with a similar format to the Bing Wallder Shield in November.
The squad was picked by selectors Eric Cossor (Commercial Club), Gerald O’Brien (North Albury) and Clarrie Klepiak (Lavington Panthers).
It will be cut to 20 players with a reserve.
The trial is scheduled to start at 1pm.
Those selected to take part are Des Keenan (Holbrook), Mick Dunnet (Urana), Neville Habermann (Rand), Ross Nixon (Rand) s; Peter Gale (Commercial Club), Don Carpenter (Commercial Club), Bryan Gee (Oaklands), Mark Sutcliffe (Oaklands) s; Mick Day (North Albury), Bob Prentice (North Albury), Ken Freeman (Culcairn), Max Duncan (North Albury) s; Russell Post (Holbrook), Des Klinberg (Lavington Panthers), John Danaher (Oaklands), Ron Bonat (Oaklands) s; Bill Collins (Lavington Panthers), Brett Brownfield (Lavington Panthers), Feargal o’Hearcain (Walla), Mike Hodgess (Lavington Panthers) s; Matthew Richens (Oaklands), John Edwards (Howlong), Noel Wilksch (Walla) and Keith Truin (Howlong) s.
North Albury has a two-bowl triples tournament being played this weekend.
It had 26 teams by yesterday with just two more required for a maximum field.
The event has attracted bowlers from a wide area and is set to be a real success.
