A FASHION parade in Albury today will be the final major fund-raiser before nine climbers scale Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro next month.

The parade is a fund-raiser for the Rae of Hope charity in support of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
Mandy Hobbs, who started the foundation in honour of her late mother, said $10,000 had been raised so far.
“I’ve got a friend who’s going through breast cancer,” she said.
“If we go up the mountain and it’s tough, it’s nowhere near as tough as what people with cancer are going through.
“That’s the attitude we’re taking.”
Albury police chief Supt Beth Stirton will take part in the fashion parade and climb the mountain with other officers.
“It’s for a great cause, raising money for breast cancer,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to it, with trepidation.”
The fashion parade at Blue Illusion in Dean Street, runs from 12pm to 3pm, with 20 per cent of sales to support the charity. To book your spot at the fashion event phone Blue Illusion on 6041 6080.
The climbers will fly to Tanzania on September 13 and start the climb two days later.
