The Murray Street home was targeted between midnight and 12.30am.
An 18-year-old, who was at home with two adults, woke when a person opened his door.
“He’s called out, presumably thinking it was one of his parents, and the person has then fled,” Sgt Brian Curran said.
“The person ran out the back door.
“They stole some cigarettes and some personal items.”
The man did not see the offender.
“The residents are obviously concerned, it’s shaken them up,” Sgt Curran said.
“They’re upset that someone has invaded their privacy.”
