On September 13, the Huon Hill Hotel will host a group of businesswomen who have banded together with the Border Ovarian Cancer Awareness Group to promote a night dedicated to ovarian cancer awareness.

The program, marketed to both men and women, is titled “Be healthy, look after your selfie” and encourages participants to take time out and look after themselves.

Activities during the night will include an auction, lucky cupcakes and pick-a-box.

The group has raised more than $100,000 for cancer awareness and research over the past two years.

Organiser Narelle Robinson said the event was about having a fun night, while at the same time promoting awareness.

“It’s about having a great night with family and friends, filled with fun and laughter,” she said.

Ms Robinson said the title was a play on words, with nearly everyone being on social media and taking selfies.

“Take a photo of yourself and take a good look at what’s happening.”

Some of the businesswomen involved include Tracey Holley and Shayne Holden, of the SS&A Club, Bernie Jones, from Riverina TAFE, and Sharon Muggivan, of Aware Industries.

Donations for the auction have been sourced from Elvery Fine Arts, Quadrant Security, Baxter Concrete, The Langham Hotel Melbourne and Cakes by Clare.

Ms Robinson said tickets were available at Wodonga Real Estate or the SS&A Club.
