They had got away clean from break-ins from Tatton to Kooringal and police believe there could have been other burglaries they still don’t know about.

But it all went pear-shaped on Henwood Avenue about 1.45am when a man on his way home from work saw the trio darting in and out of yards.

He pulled over and called police and they nabbed two on the spot. A third managed to flee.

Police said bank cards recovered belonged to the owners of a Fitzroy Street house burgled earlier.

The two males who were arrested were later charged.

One, who is 25, is facing five charges involving the proceeds of crime, breaking and entering, larceny and breaking implements. He has been bailed to Wagga court on October 15.

A youth, 17, was charged with offences involving the proceeds of crime, house breaking implements and stolen goods. He will appear in Wagga Children’s Court on October 14.

Inspector Peter McLay said police were waiting to hear from any other householder who might have been burgled over the weekend.

Anyone with information on the third suspect is asked to phone Wagga police or Crime Stoppers.
