Thieves targeted the Dallinger Road business in Lavington on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning last week.
They cut their way through a fence and made off with a New Holland excavator valued at $31,000.
Police believe the offenders had “sound knowledge” of the equipment and how to work it, and believe a small truck or trailer may have been used to remove it.
They have released an image of the earth- moving equipment, but a staff member at the business said they held little hope of seeing the excavator again.
