When the Swans and Hawks take to the MCG you can expect no less a crowd nor noise than any recent grand final.
Across the country, including the Border, there will be plenty of barbecues and grand final gatherings where friends and family stop to watch the game and raise a glass or two.
These celebrations make the grand final day a great day but it is important for revellers to ensure they don’t take a step too far by overindulging and driving or engaging in other inappropriate behaviour.
Our congratulations and best wishes must also go to the Albury Thunder whose reserve and first grade sides head to Wagga tomorrow to take on Gundagai and South City respectively in the Group 9 rugby league grand finals.
And we can’t forget the Benalla Saints who are aiming to win tomorrow’s Goulburn Valley Football League grand final against the Shepparton Swans, their first flag since 1973 when they beat North Albury to win the top prize in the Ovens and Murray league.
