The feature race, the $100,000 Benalla Cup (2046m), has attracted 39 nominations.
Several high-profile city trainers have nominated runners, including Peter Moody, Robert Hickmott, Chris Waller and the in-form training partnership of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig.
The Moody-trained Brambles has been allocated top-weight of 61-kilograms. He is a last- start winner at Flemington.
The club has also received 35 nominations for the feature sprint — the $50,000 Weary Dunlop Hcp (1206m).
The Brian Cox-trained Sumakaray took out the feature first up last year before going on to prove ultra competitive over the Melbourne spring carnival.
Cox has nominated Chinzia, Bay Of Biscay and Smoken Cash as he looks to go back-to-back in the time-honoured sprint.
ALBURY Racing Club has made several changes to its committee after holding its annual general meeting last week.
The club welcomed Glenn Chapman, Wayne Matsinos, Ann McHardy and Rod Mullavey.
They replaced Stephen Baxter who passed away in December.
Russell Mathews and Paul Spencer stepped down, joining Richard Hickey who stepped down last year and still hadn’t been replaced.
The club has also renovated the main public bar.
The bar has been reduced by about a third in length, with the decking area increased.
RACING NSW will hold its annual awards night on Friday.
Albury Racing Club has been nominated for the Country TAB Race Club of the Year.
Moruya Jockey Club, Murrumbidgee Turf Club and Scone Race Club are also finalists.
Brett Cavanough has been nominated for the country trainer award along with Greg Bennett, Luke Griffith and Neil Godbolt.
Cavanough has won the award three times.
The awards night will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel.
MURRUMBIDGEE Turf Club will hold its annual picnic race day on Saturday.
The meeting has attracted 102 nominations for the six-race card.
The feature race is the $10,000 Wagga Picnic Cup, (2000-metres) with a slightly disappointing seven nominations.
Officials are hoping for another big crowd with the meeting proving popular with race-goers in the past.
Final fields will be released after 9am today.
