A development application for the latest addition has been lodged with Albury Council.
The move comes six weeks after the announcement Trinity schools in Thurgoona and Wodonga had become the commission’s biggest acquisition outside WA.
More than $1 million will be spent at Wodonga on a full-sized sporting oval and relocating and refurbishing of junior school classrooms.
The senior school building at Thurgoona will replace existing portables, with the expansion in line with the school’s long-term masterplan.
Construction was planned in two stages, but new ownership means the project will be completed in its entirety.
Work is expected to start this year and be completed late next year.
Trinity has surging enrolments, with almost 1000 students from kindergarten to year 12.
Principal Steven O’Connor said the senior building would cater for growing enrolments.
“In 2012, Trinity College grew to three streams in year 7 and next year it will grow to four streams,” he said.
“This growth adds significantly to the difficulty in timetabling appropriately and effectively with our current facilities.”
