In warm conditions, the Cats won by three games with David Lake the standout.
He received good support from Rodney Wurtz and Ephraim Mitchell.
Aaron Breust won two sets for SPD, including a solid singles performance.
Wodonga Bushrangers took control in the doubles rubbers on their way to defeating Forrest Hill Tigers 4-41 to 2-32.
Graham Hawkins, Mark Neil and John McVean combined well, while Michael Adorni-Dickson and Patrick Garrett each won a singles for Tigers.
Marcus Busch got Forrest Hill Blues away to a good start against clubmates Galahs with a convincing singles win.
Busch, Rob Frampton and Michael Reid then squeaked through two tie breaks in doubles to set up a 5-1 salute.
In the section one ladies, Glenly prevailed in a titanic battle including three tie-break sets and two 8-6 wins against Wodonga on its way to a 5-47 to 1-37 triumph.
Erin Newton and Maxine Quinlivan remained unbeaten for Glenly while Sandra Allen was the best performer for Wodonga.
Forrest Hill, with Di Wurtz and Sally Bulle firing, accounted for Thurgoona Jade.
A three-set haul from Ian Llewelyn had Albury Blue in the box seat for much of the afternoon before completing a five sets to three victory over Forrest Hill Hornets in section two men.
Dave Saroff, Steve Smith and Ron Turton also contributed, with Harry MacPherson-Wood best for Hornets.
Forrest Hill Diggers easily accounted for Sacred Heart and Albury Gold beat Forrest Hill Blue.
The Wodonga Bulldogs team of Colin Mackay, Paul Schultz, Terry McLean and Stuart Gadd outclassed Thurgoona Sharks.
A strong finish from Jodi Pratt and Chantelle Brown saw Thurgoona Bronze narrowly get over the line against Uiver Park in the closest match of the section two ladies section.
Raquel Wood and Sam Chant also performed strongly, while an unbeaten Tracey Farrant kept Uiver Park alive in the three-game loss.
Maggie Brawn and Chris Jones led Glenly to a comfortable win over Lavington Hearts while Lavington Diamonds were too good for Thurgoona Silver.
