It started its title defence with convincing wins over Johnsons MME and Cosgraves Property Advisors and played a 1-1 draw against Healthfocus Physiotherapy.
Defence was the key, with captain Kate Bardy and Georgia McCormack strong outside the circle.
Cosgraves are sitting in second place after two wins, and captain Sadie Sawyer is happy with her team, which has a good balance of experience through Jade Versteegen and Chloe Jones and youngsters Erin Norie, Macey and Riley Sutherland.
Johnsons MME had a 4-1 win over Healthfocus Physiotherapy with Emerald Beath and Kate Mason prominent.
In the men’s, newcomers X-Ray Group and Party Oz Entertainment are undefeated.
The X-Ray Group started its campaign with a 3-0 win over Gardens Medical Group thanks to a double to Corie Norie.
Gardens missed Spitfires best and fairest Dom Wild with a shoulder injury.
Hume Bank started its title defence with a 4-3 win over Newmarket Hotel with Matt Smart and Jeremy Maggs cutting a swathe through the defence early to build a 4-1 lead.
Kookaburra Glen Simpson then made his presence felt with strong runs through the midfield and scored two goals to make it a tight finish.
Paddy Brown and veteran Lyndon Robertson stood out for Newmarket Hotel.
Party Oz beat EDC Electrical 3-1 in a closer game than the score suggested, and then beat Gardens 4-1 with Charlie Wallace and Josh MacVean standing out and young goalkeeper Will Karaffa making some excellent saves.
Newmarket Hotel and EDC drew 1-1 to keep themselves in contention.
EDC captain Andrew Monte is looking forward to the return of key players Sam McIntosh and Tim Jones next week.
