Claims that NSW Ambulance overlooked installing flashing lights before the station opened this year are incorrect.
A wide range of safety issues, including the need for signs and lights to be installed at the Albury station, were assessed as part of the comprehensive planning process for this new $4 million NSW government funded facility.
It was determined during the planning process the most appropriate type of traffic control devices would be determined once the new station was operational.
After that assessment, the decision has been made to install advanced signage with flashing lights.
NSW Ambulance is working with Albury Council and Roads and Maritime NSW to complete the purchase and installation.
Albury Council is supportive of NSW Ambulance and the new ambulance station in Wagga Road, assisting us to extend no parking zones with road markings and undertake tree pruning to maximise visibility when exiting the station to respond to emergency calls.
This new ambulance station replaces its 80-year-old predecessor.
With upgraded facilities and extra space for paramedics, the new station has enhanced NSW Ambulance’s services to Albury and its surrounding communities.
