But invite them on a ride to Beechworth, put on a barbie and show them some top-shelf vintage motorbikes and you’re far more likely to get a better result.
The Classic Enthusiasts Motorcycle Club and the Albury-Wodonga Prostate Cancer Support Group will hold a prostate cancer awareness ride and bike display tomorrow.
Co-ordinator John McCluskey said it was the second year the club had been involved.
“It was previously conducted with another motorcycle club but when the support group asked us to be involved we were happy to do so,” he said.
“It’s a good cause, something that’s pertinent and some of our members used to participate in it before.
“But the idea is to help the riders become aware of prostate cancer as a by-product of doing what they enjoy.
“I didn’t know much about the disease, but the event has helped me become far more aware of the symptoms.”
Mr McCluskey said organisers would be happy to have 40 to 50 riders.
“Last year we had 45, but there is always room for more,” he said.
“The Harley Owners Group of Albury-Wodonga (will have) six from their organisation.”
Riders can gather at the former waterwheel site at Australia Park in Wodonga Place at 8.30am for a 9am start.
They will ride to Beechworth, stop for morning tea and return to Wodonga RSL for a 1pm lunch and bike display.
There will be a presentation on prostate cancer awareness after lunch.
