Melanie Nuggin, 29, lost a laptop and various electrical items after her Ford Territory was rolled down her driveway early yesterday.
While the value of the goods stolen was about $2300, she said the most valuable items were photos of her four children on the laptop.
“I was in the middle of moving house and I had a heap of stuff in the car,” she said.
“I’m not too worried about everything, it’s just the laptop has photos of my children from when they were born.
“The screen was broken so you can’t do anything on it.
“I was going to get it fixed to get all the photos off it.”
Ms Nuggin said the incident was made worse by the fact her birthday was yesterday.
She said she was glad to have moved out yesterday.
“I lived there for about three months,” she said.
“It’s a terrible place to live with children.
“Nearly every night you can hear people fighting and screaming and yelling.
“I had a couple of kids aged about seven and nine ask if they could have a smoke for their mother.”
Police dusted for fingerprints on the car yesterday and were investigating the matter.
Officers took details of items stolen, and Ms Nuggin said she had been told to visit secondhand stores in the area.
“Hopefully someone will hand in the laptop,” she said.
“It’s a Toshiba that’s a few years old and is silver on the top and black on the bottom.”
