These were presented by the Minister for Ageing and Disability Services John Ajaka.
Paul Windridge, who grew up in Lavington, was the winner for “carer of a person frail due to age.”
Paul has lived in Sydney for the eight years to look after his 92-year-old grandmother.
He is a dedicated, selfless young man of great patience who looks after an elderly person.
While his mother attends dementia groups, Paul has used that time to study structural engineering and is now studying civil engineering at university part-time.
It’s nice to hear such good stories of young people who are achieving so much.
His award is an acknowledgement of the contribution carers make to the community.
