Events throughout this week range from storytime for children to business breakfasts for the bosses.
A Green Market will be combined with the Farmers Market at Albury’s Hovell Tree Park on Saturday and will feature 40 stalls.
Special guests include Murray the Platypus and Costa Georgiadis from the ABC’s Gardening Australia.
Hume Bank’s Sam Fursdon said the event was something important to the bank and its staff.
“We’ve held a sustainability market every year since 2010 and now we have partnered up with city councils and RCE-MD to make it an entire week,” Mr Fursdon said.
“We think it’s a fantastic initiative that’s more about how individuals can come and learn from the rest of the community.”
Convenor Regional Centre of Expertise — Murray Darling John Rafferty said he hopedit would become an annual event.
“There will be workshops, scarecrow making and food samples and Costa will be there as the host,” he said.
“There is a lot to celebrate about sustainability and it takes a week to cover everything.”
