Ms Retra, an avid gardener and bee enthusiast, was named sustainability champion of the year for her work in inspiring others to tread more lightly on the planet.
Mars Petcare won the waste and recycling award for its environmental work with the “Zero waste to landfill” project.
The awards were presented on Thursday night at NSW Parliament House.
The NSW government’s annual awards recognise outstanding leadership and innovation in environmental sustainability.
