Bells and whistles: For the first time, a three storey-marquee has been erected in the Birdcage with Lexus claiming its spot in the record books. The ground floor features a Lexus 4WD with a mirror paint job, pup-up burger bar, and chill-out lounges. The second floor features a pop-up version of The Age 2014 Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year, Attica, and a most spectacular recycled wood, wire and flower roof installation by Joost Bakker. The uppermost level was designed by Durie, includes a "living wall" and offers an unsurpassed view of the track and its surrounds.

James Boags – House of Boags

The faces: Daniel MacPherson, David Hayes, Lee Freedman, Cadel Evans.

Bells and whistles: Guests will knock back plenty of cold ones in limited edition black glass mugs inscribed with names of past Cup winners, menu designed around exclusively Tasmanian produce, rare brewery memorabilia on display including James Boags' immaculately restored Chevrolet truck which made the trip to Melbourne on the Spirit of Tasmania.

Tabcorp Marquee

Faces: Samantha Armytage, David Koch, Chris Judd, Barry Hall, Natalie Barr, Jack Riewoldt, Matthew Lloyd, Stirling Mortlock, Cameron Ling, Nick Maxwell.

Bells and whistles: Situated in Millionaires Row (the very front of the Birdcage) the stunning interior of the Tabcorp marquee is an absolute knockout. In fact, if Carrie Bradshaw was given her way with the design of a Birdcage tent, this would be the result. The abundance of fresh flowers are designed by Kate Hill and Melbourne chef extraordinaire, Teague Eazard, of Ezard, Gingerboy and Sydney's Black, is in charge of the more than 8000 plates that will be consumed in this marquee alone over the four days of the carnival.

Caffe Lavazza

Faces: Nadia and Jimmy Bartel, Nicole Warne and all the beautiful people.

Bells and whistles: Lavazza have nailed the theme 'From Italy, with Passion' with an ultra luxe fitout and a dazzling array hospitality on offer. Architect Matthew Herbert of  Herbert & Mason unveiled the beautiful fresco of Raphael's The School of Athens which is only outdone by the handmade light chandelier feature, created using 160 Plumm stemless wine glasses, was also unveiled. Chefs from Melbourne's Sarti, Sydney's Pilu at Freshwater, Brisbane's Black Bird and Bar and local favourite Huxtable will each take over the pans on different days during the carnival.

Swisse

Faces: Margot Robbie (Stakes Day), Ashley Hart, Megan Gale, Shelley Craft, Benji and Joel Madden.

Bells and whistles: Design guru and original Blockhead, Matt Martino, has created the standout trackside marquee with a – stay with us – potting shed fusing the 'science' of Swisse with a truckload of spring blooms and bushes. Epicure catering have incorporated key vitamins and tonics from the Swisse range into each item on the Paleo inspired menu. Definitely the home of the beautiful people.

G.H MUMM 'Cote D'Azure By Day-By Night'

Faces: Bambi Northwood-Blythe, DJ Fred Falke, Alexandra Agoston, Shannon and Simon Vos.

Bells and whistles: Inspired by Cannes nightclubs, this is THE party tent of the enclosure, which will transform each day from light and airy luxury to a curtains-closed den of dancing and divas. The  indulgent menu includes Yasa caviar, sashimi, prawns, oysters and a one-off dessert menu designed by the lads at cult-gelateria, Messina. Mumm anticipates more than 10, 000 bottles – or 65, 000 glasses will be served over the four days.

Emirates 

Faces: Gigi Hadid, Spandau Ballet - Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp, Steven Norman, John Keeble and Anthony Hadley, Frances Abbott, Montana Cox, Molly Meldrum, Geoffrey Edelsten and Gabi Grecko, Andrew Johns, Nicole Warne,  Gyton Grantley, Tex Walker, Kate Waterhouse, Billy Slater, Stephen Curry, David Koch, Samantha Armytage, Demi Harman, Sam Lane, Jordan and Zac Stenmark.

Bells and whistles: Emirates has outdone itself with THE prime position on millionaires row, with a two-storey German-themed enclosure modelled on the country's most famous architectural icon, the Neuschwanstein Castle. The balcony area is massive – and needs to be The airline will host more than 1000 VIPs across the carnival, with hairdressers, hand massages and Lancome make-up artists touch ups on offer every day.

Johnnie Walker

Faces: Eddie and Carla McGuire, Sharon and Frank Van Haandel, Billy and Nicole Slater, Leo Burnett, Todd Sampson, Lisa Hamilton, Gyton Grantley, Melanie Vallejo, Tom Wren, Johnny Rollins.

Bells and whistles: Masterchef alumni and cocktail magician has created a "sensory tour" of the six unique "personalities" in the Johnnie Walker portfolio using bespoke herb blends, a owner-of-a-kind peat smoke machine and a menu to match. Think a New Orleans inspired, pared back gentleman's study – with colour changing LED lighting built into the walls and beautiful models in every nook and cranny.
