Regional Infrastructure, which operates the nearly complete complex under the NVLX trading name, will hold a community open day from 11am, which will include a formal welcome ceremony at the new facility at noon.
NVLX operations manager James Thompson said the complex represented an investment of more than $17 million in Wodonga and incorporated a range of innovative designs and new technology.
“At this stage the site is 75 per cent complete, in terms of development, and the official opening will be taking place early in 2015,” he said.
“We will conduct tours during the day so the community will have the opportunity to view the new facility up close.
“The complex will be open to the public from 11am to 3pm and a barbecue and refreshments will be provided at 12.30pm.”
Mr Thompson said even the people working on the facility were impressed.
“The under-roof aspect of the complex is a big thing and we hope to have some soft flooring down,” he said.
“But overall, it will be the sheer structure of the complex which will impress people.”
Mr Thompson said the controversy surrounding the move from Wodonga to Barnawartha North had died down.
“There seems to be a bit of excitement around,” he said.
