The five-day competition dates back to 1933 and already has more than 100 men registered.
Opening on Wednesday, December 3 the women’s competitions will tee things off.
And there’s something for everyone, with prizes in the women’s competition for the straightest drives and nearest the pin across A, B and C grades, vet and super vet prizes, and a competition to win a pair of golf shoes on a par 3.
With A grade playing stroke and B and C grade playing stableford, Albury Golf Club’s Raeleen Hocking said she hoped it would encourage more women to take on the tricky course.
“It is a challenge but it is a good course to play on and we’re really looking to encourage women to play,” she said.
The women will play 36 holes over two days before open stableford and open ambrose events, followed by the men’s 18- hole championship on the Sunday.
“I’ve been at the club 12 years and helped on the inland for five, it’s a vibrant club and we’ve got a really good group,” Hocking said.
