The Towong Shire in its wisdom has allowed good farmland along the access road to be developed as building blocks.
People now live there.
The estimate of quarry use, apart from blasting, is 20 trucks daily, that’s 40 trips on a one lane dirt track.
Noise, dust and danger especially if you have children on bikes or horses.
I believe it’s up to the shire to look after its people.
However, I also believe the quarry owners have the right to carry on a business.
I think at the least the road would have to become a double lane sealed road, maybe with a separate horse-bike track for the residents.
Even then they will still have noise and the danger of heavy trucks, possibly also towing dog trailers.
The entrance to the highway, I believe, would need upgrading also.
The road upgrade would have to be substantial to withstand the constant heavily laden equipment.
Perhaps more thought needs to go into where land is allowed to be developed for residential use.
