Playing away, the Bulldogs 20-something skips Jason King and Josh Rudd were among the big-winning rinks, while recent Sydney recruit Andrew Batterham showed his class playing at no.3 for King.
Wodonga is now 19 points clear of their nearest rival at the end of the first round of home and away clashes.
The Bulldogs could lock up top spot when they play second-placed Benalla in the first week of the second round.
Wodonga’s Ashley Bates said there were no givens in a competition that had tightened up this summer.
“The competition has certainly evened out this year with several sides improving significantly,” he said.
“It was only a couple of weeks ago that we were beaten by Yarrawonga Mulwala.
“We beat Corowa Services easily on Saturday but they are a more than handy side.
“I wouldn’t write-off anyone.”
Bates talked up the development of King and Rudd.
“Josh skipped in a couple of games last year but has really matured into the role this season,” he said.
“They are the future of the club with Josh just 21 and Jason 22.
“Both have been playing and skipping well.
“Both practice hard and their performances are now fulfilling their promise.”
Rudd had 19 shots to spare over Scott Witherson and King 16 shots over Max Scanlan.
Bates said the game against Benalla would go a long way to deciding the title.
“We all have the bye this week and then we play Benalla at the start of the second round,” he said.
“They are a quality side that has added some depth during the season.
“In the first game of the year we won by four shots and they have only gotten stronger.
“That game will pretty much settle the top of the ladder.”
