In little more than a minute the 500cc ethanol-fuelled bikes covered four laps of the 350-metre circuit in a series of heats before the decider.
Each rider in the under-16 (250cc) and under-21 (500cc) classes competed against each of their opponents in five heats.
The top-three pointscorers go into the final, a B-grade final from the next five decides the last rider into the decider.
“From there all the points are forgotten and it’s the final race that decides the overall winner,” club president Shane Clare said.
“They are pretty quick — going from a standing start to getting around four laps in a minute.
“On a power to weight ratio, these bikes that are just 80 kilograms, are as quick as a Formula 1 car.”
In the under-21s South Australia’s Robert Branford was too good for Mansfield’s Max Fricke with Jack Holder, the younger brother of 2012 World Champion Chris Holder, in third.
In the under 16 Victorian titles victory went to Declyn Adams from Jimmy Jones and Kane Lawrence.
