Defending 9-266, the Eagles looked to be motoring to victory at 5-209 before veteran Heath Naughton struck to have the visitors in dire trouble at 9-227.
Belvoir wasn’t finished just yet with Matt Rhook and Blake Nikolic putting on a gutsy 28-run final wicket partnership before Rhook was caught by youngster Ben Lloyd on the deep mid-on boundary.
St Patrick’s skipper Kane Arendarcikas said it was a relief to get the points.
“They were pretty good batting conditions and we had to work for every wicket,” Arendarcikas said.
“The last two dug in and made it hard work for us.
“Belvoir has had three players make centuries against us in recent years and they are always a dangerous side.”
Naughton proved to be the matchwinner with 5-56 off 21 overs with four of his wickets coming during his second spell while Arendarcikas picked up 2-61 off 24 overs.
Belvoir’s John Spencer batted well to topscore with 53 with support from Glen Vassallo (48) and Mick Russell (36).
East Albury scored a comfortable 160-run win over Albury at Alexandra Park.
Chasing 305 for victory, the visitors were never in the hunt as Chris Bridle tore through the top-order on his way to grabbing 5-38 off 13 overs.
Only skipper Kade Brown provided resistance with 44 as Albury was bundled out for 144.
East Albury made 4-87 in its second innings.
