AFTER first opening its doors as Paddy’s almost 16 years ago, patrons were frothing over the new Beer DeLuxe front room last night, which now boasts more than 100 types of beer.

The venue, operated by Armada Hospitality Group, has been split in half with the Paddy’s beer garden out the back and Beer DeLuxe in the front.
About 250 invited guests turned out for the official opening of the revamp, which included a new bar, beer taps, floors, ceilings, walls, furniture, decor and lighting.
Patron Jenny Brown said she felt it opened itself up to a broader demographic.
“The beer is really good, there’s a good variety, it’s cold, it’s tasty and the new glasses are also nice,” Mrs Brown said.
“It’s got a very social and relaxed feel, you could come after work for a beer or even bring a client here.
“It might even become a place where the older people now feel they can come.”
The industrial look took three weeks to complete, with the walls now sporting a hand painted beer journey.
Director of Professional Services at Armada Hospitality Group Jason Sheather said it had taken the best components from their Beer DeLuxe bars in Melbourne at Federation Square and Hawthorn and brought them to Albury.
He said it had been a challenging journey during one of their busiest periods.
“We’ve got the brewers star which is about purity and the six elements to beer as a brewer — so the front part is a bit of a beer journey,” he said.
“It’s all about good food that you can eat with you hands, shared plates, beer paddles and a diverse beer range, I don’t think you can get that regionally.
“And on the back of the beer variety the food to match with it.”
Those who aren’t beer lovers haven’t been forgotten, there are also new wine and cocktail lists and a new food menu, which retains some of the old favourites including chicken strips.
Future work is on the drawing board for the Crown Lounge upstairs.
