The Ahern Court robbery took place between 6.30pm and midnight, while homeowner Brayden — who did not want his surname published — had gone out for dinner and a movie with his partner.
He said his partner had gone to get washing off the line when she noticed a glass panel on the garage door had been smashed in.
“For someone to come into your home and take things of great value to you is not very nice,” Brayden said.
“I’m not very happy about it, I just can’t believe the mentality of people, especially at this time of year it’s the last thing I need.”
Thieves made off with about $5000 worth of items including hot water on demand for camping, a drop saw and a nail gun.
Brayden said the latest burglary follows on from his car being broken into earlier this year.
“I don’t know why someone would have targeted us,” he said.
“I am working on my house so whether that made it obvious that I had those kinds of tools on my property or not.”
Police believe the break-in was a targeted attack.
Detective Leading Senior Constable Ian Deverell said in the lead up to Christmas people should look out for neighbours.
“We believe a vehicle was involved due to the amount of tools taken, they would have been difficult to carry,” he said.
“It is a reminder to keep an eye on neighbouring properties and report any suspicious activity including strange vehicles.”
