Shannon Mifsud and John Webster had their first shifts at the Albury station yesterday.
Constable Mifsud has moved home, found a new place to live and started a new job, all within the space of three days, after swapping her studies in forensics for a career change at the police academy.
Constable Webster has been in Albury a little longer, having moved his family from Orange six months ago and leaving his job as a fitter-machinist.
He decided to fulfil a long-term ambition to make a career switch to training to be a police officer.
Both constables have undertaken almost eight months of training and are keen to be out on the job in Albury.
And our city is grateful to have both of them join the ranks at Albury, boosting the resources in the local area command and ensuring the force remains strong and has the numbers to keep our community safe and protected.
It’s also great to see officers embark upon a career that will hopefully give them the satisfaction they are seeking.
