In a huge boost to Jindera’s finals aspirations, Blissett crosses to the kennel after managing 11 senior games in Albury’s star-studded premiership team this year.
Blissett also played eight matches in the Tigers reserves, including their dominant 158-point grand final victory over Wangaratta.
Jindera coach Josh Walker said the Bulldogs were rapt to land the talented Tiger after also recently securing former North Albury wingman Sam Myors.
“Toby is one of those players who is exactly what we were after,” Walker said.
“Alongside Sammy Myors, he will add some pace to our midfield and complement our running game.
“He played over half the season with Albury seniors last year in what was an O and M premiership team.
“So he has obviously got really good credentials and is a quality player and should be dynamite in the Hume league.”
Walker said apart from being a quality midfielder, Blissett also has the ability to kick goals when resting forward.
“One of his biggest assets is his finishing skills,” he said.
“He is lightning quick over the first 10 metres, which makes him dangerous whether on the lead or kicking goals on the run.
“Having a midfielder that is a classy finisher and has the ability to push forward and kick goals is something we have lacked over the past two seasons.
“But Toby fits that mould perfectly.”
Jindera narrowly missed the finals this season with a 9-9 record.
But Walker is confident with their recruits and several players coming back from long term injuries the Bulldogs can return as a finals force.
“It’s obviously only early and hard to get a gauge on where all the other clubs are at,” he said.
“We only just missed out on finals this year after a lot of things didn’t go our way.
“But finals are definitely the goal, especially if we can land another one or two recruits which are on the horizon.”
